She also said: “I decided to arrest him with the Neighborhood Watch staff because he refused to reveal the name of the hospital where his parents went for treatment. It was in the midst of this apprehension and confusion that Daniel, who is the late Julius’ younger brother, went to the kitchen hub and raised the alarm. In rushing, we discovered the lifeless bodies of the suspect’s parents covered in clothing. I discovered the clothes and what I saw was beyond my explanation, it was gory to say the least. His brain cells were scattered all over the ground. “

Confirming the incident, Enugu State Police Command spokesman Daniel Ndukwe said: “The suspect, Michael Ugwuanyi, has been arrested and the Police Commissioner has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. further investigation and processing. “

When he arrived at the scene of the incident in Mkporogwu on Monday, the suspect’s older brother, Pius, said that the suspect had been ripped into the flesh of the family, adding that he was always demanding money from family members.

He said that he refused to meet him in Abuja, where he is doing business, adding that the family tried to prepare him for business, but that he would always waste the money and return to the village to make more demands.

When our reporter demanded an explanation about the suspect’s mental health, the older brother said: “My brother has cost me money. In 2008, I went to Yola because I received a call for help that she was locked in a room for seven days. Neighbors informed me that he stopped trading for that period of time. They told me that he would always answer them when they knocked on his door, but that he would not open it despite their persuasions. They suspected that he was mentally ill.

“When I arrived, I called him and he asked me what I had come to do. I convinced him to open the door and when he did he asked me why I was coming to look for him after having left him to suffer all these years. He demanded that I give him money to feed himself, which I did.

“A friend who accompanied me, after close observation, told me that I needed the attention of a psychiatrist. I mobilized policemen who accompanied me to arrest him. We took him to a psychiatrist’s house, that’s where he manifested a bit of madness. He told me that his pastor wanted to kill him. He also told me that I took him there to be killed, but after treatment he stabilized. We were there for seven days.
“I packed his belongings and went home with him. We took him to a worship camp in Umuida in the Igbo-Eze North local government area of Enugu state, where he turned long before returning to the village with us, ”he explained.
