Two people, male adults have been confirmed dead in a solitary fatal car accident in Iwo Road Junction along the NOSAGBO-GBBONGAN road on Wednesday.
According to Federal Cors, the OSun sector command, in a statement issued by the Security Commander, Leye Adegboyega on Wednesday, the accident occurred as a result of a rape of mechanical deficiency in the DAF truck with which the victims were traveling.
The statement issued by Agnes Ogungbemi, the public education officer of the sector, revealed that fifteen passengers; Thirteen male adults and two females were injured as a result of the accident.
Adegboyega said the preliminary preliminary research report of the DAF truck revealed that the animal -loaded truck driver was sleeping while driving.
He said: “The starry truck was loaded with approximately 70 animals, including cows, goats and sheep, as well as human passengers sitting on animals. According to the reports, the vehicle was traveling from the state of Kebbi on its way to Ikire, Osun state.
“The driver had fallen asleep on at least two occasions after the truck went to Osogbo. When he arrived at the surprise hotel in Gbongan, the driver allegedly fell asleep again. As a result, the truck deviated from the road and immersed himself in a ditch on the road, annuling and violently expel the animals and passengers.
“Two deaths were recorded on the scene, while another 15 passengers suffered varying degrees of injuries. The injured were quickly transported to an Inseoye medical center, Gbongan for their medical care.”
Adegboyega, revealed that the two victims wounded and a corpse were taken to the Adeoye Gbongan medical center and 13 injured victims and a body and a dead body were taken to the Medical Center of Ariremako Gbongan.
He added that Nigeria police, the Ghongana division, assumed the star vehicle.
The commander of the sector warned that “all vehicles that are not worthy of road should be out of the road. I urge all motorists to carefully drive.”
