The Niger State Police command arrested twelve alleged criminals during a red dot raid in different places in Minna, the state capital, and recovered five bags of Indian hemp.
The Public Relations officer of the Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspects were arrested on June 1, 2025, at approximately 1 in the morning, when the agents attached to the central police division, together with guard members, carried out reades in criminal hiding places.
The places where arrests include Paya, Sabon-Gari, Gwari Market and Abdulsalam Quarters.
Abiodun revealed that the five bags of alleged cannabis were recovered from a residence in abdulsalam rooms with Saulehi Abubakar, 18, who said that the bags belonged to a Dahiru, currently in general.
Those arrested include Ahassan Yusuf, 25, from Barkin-Sale, Abubakar Shehu, 20, and Hashiru Hamza, 20, both of Kasuwan Gwari, among others who already have pending cases at the police station.
According to the police spokesman, all suspects are under investigation and will be accused in court accordingly after investigations.
