Nollywood actress, Bukky Adekogbe Raji, popularly known as Aminatu Papapa, has apologized for Nigerians, expressing a deep repentance for her role in the campaign for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
In a video interview that has since turned viral, the actress begged the forgiveness of the Nigerians, particularly those who fight to pay the basic needs.
She admitted that her support for Tinubu's candidacy has become a source of pain for her, since many Nigerians continue to face economic difficulties.
“I am using this opportunity to pray all Nigerians. I'm sorry. Your source of life will not be difficult.
“It was the campaign that I campaigned for Tinubu that is causing me pain. I have pain because many masses are hungry.”
According to her, hunger on the earth and the inability of many citizens to pay three square meals per day have left their broken heart.
“Those who cannot afford three square meals per day, I beg you with the name of God.”
She argued that her campaign for Tinubu had no financial motivation, and emphasized that she did not receive a single Naira in exchange for her support.
This will come only a few days after the veteran Nollywood Actor Ganiu Nafiu, popularly known as Alapini, also expressed his regret for supporting President Tinubu during the 2023 presidential campaign.

He regretted that he and other Yoruba film actors who joined behind the renewed movement of hope have been neglected from the elections.
Alapini expressed his disappointment during an interview in 'Behind the Fame-African A-List TV', a YouTube channel, where he opened on his career as an actor, health struggles, family challenges and his participation in the Tinubu campaign.
Speaking with obvious frustration in Yoruba, the veteran actor said that the hope they had during the campaign season has become disappointment.
