A magistrate court in ado-ekiti has condemned 32 people for violating environmental health and environmental sanitation laws of the Ekiti state during the environment of environmental sanitation of routine held on Saturday.
By chairing the procedures, Judge Olubunmi Bamidele ruled that the offenders did not comply with the environmental regulations of the State and pointed out that their convictions would serve as a warning to dissuade similar behavior.
According to the court ruling, 21 of the convicted persons received the option of paying fines, while the remaining criminals were sentenced to the community service.
11 people were discharged after the court reviewed and considered the details of their cases.
In a related development, Ayodele Aluko, director of Environmental Health and Sanitation of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, asked residents to defend consistent environmental hygiene that reduces the risk of outbreaks of infectious diseases.
Speaking during Saturday's sanitation exercise, Aluko encouraged citizens to incorporate regular environmental cleaning into their lifestyle, emphasizing that maintaining cleaning is essential for good health.
