Some six members of the Community Protection Guards (CPG) have been brutally murdered after an ambush of armed men in the area of the Bungudu local government of the State of Zamfara.
The security expert, Zagazola Makama, revealed in his mango X that several others do not have an account and are kidnapped.

The attackers put siege on Thursday, since the team was from Bungudu to Yar Katsina in the Kekun Waje district to present their respects to the family of a fallen colleague who had been killed for alleged bandits just the day before.

According to the sources, the group was surprised by heavily armed men who emerged along the route and opened fire without prior notice.

Six community guard members were instantly killed in the ambush.

The reports suggest that the armed men confiscated several action rifles of the fallen guards and also removed a motorcycle.

When the troops arrived at the scene, the assailants had already abandoned the surrounding forest, making persecution difficult.

The bodies of the murdered guards were later transmitted to the city of Bungudu, where preparations for burial are now underway.

Meanwhile, a search and rescue mission has been launched with the hope of locating those who are still missing.
