New revelations on Chidiebere Ohama have emerged, the alleged vandal arrested last week in Umuahia for stealing a ladder belonging to the EnduG, EEDC electricity distribution company.

Ohama was arrested by a group of guards in Mission Hill, Umuahia, before being delivered to the police for proper prosecution.

However, a hotel owner in New Road, Umuahia, Mr. Ikenna Sochima, claimed that the suspect and her gang staggered a staircase at the facilities of her hotel in July 2025 and broke into a guest room, during which they stole money and other values that belonged to one of her guests.

“When my guest returned to his room and found his missing value objects, he gave an alarm.

“I immediately checked our images of CCTV and I saw the faces of the suspects. I alerted the safety team of Operation Crush, who moved to the forest area known as ‘Below’ and identified Chidiebere when his image was shown to the thugs there,” said Sochima.

Sochima said that Ohama was arrested, faced the evidence and confessed the crime before being delivered to the police at that time.

The hotel owner expressed surprise that the suspect, who was arrested for vandalism, said that staircase theft was his first time of participation in the crime.
