The Nigerian army troops under the Hadin Kai operation, in joint action with the Nigeria Air Force (NAF), have eliminated more than 35 terrorists from the province of Western Africa (ISWAP) of the Islamic State during an important operation in Kumshe, a border city in the state of Born.

According to Zagazola Makama, the operation was launched after the ISWAP combatants tried an assault prior to dawn to military positions in Kumshe on Saturday. According to field reports, the insurgents, who advanced from the Gulumba Guja axis, found a fierce resistance from the troops, which forced them to retire with great losses.

The results revealed that the terrorists managed to evacuate between eight and ten of their fighters injured to the Zangeri camp near Gulumba Gua, while five bodies were hurriedly buried by their comrades. Several other bodies were left behind due to the intensity of the battle.

The military also registered victims, with a murdered soldier and two other injured in fire exchange.

To reinforce soil operation, NAF deployed aircraft for precision attacks against Iswap groups of Nigeria -Cameroon border. The successive aerial interdictions decimated terrorist formations and interrupted their plans for greater reinforcement.
