The body of a three -year -old boy swept by floods, has been recovered in Tsaria, state of Kaduna.
Haneefa disappeared after a strong downpour caused floods that swept his brothers in Tudun Jukun, Tsaria.
A statement issued by Abdulmumin Adamu of the Tsaria Division of the Nigerian Red Cross Society said: “On September 14, 2025, at approximately 11:00 am, Haneefa’s remains were discovered in Gangaren Kasan Killaco, Gyallesu, Tsaria.
“This recovery concludes the search and confirms that all the victims of the flood have been counted.”
Daily Post recalls that on September 8, 2025, the heavy rains resulted in severe floods in Tudun Jukun, Tukur Tukur Ward, Tsaria, which led to the death of two students, Fatima Sani Danmarke, a student of the School of Basic and Remedial Studies, Funtua and Yusuf Surojo, known as ABBA.
Confirming the recovery, Haneefa’s grandfather, Layin Adamu Mai Aljana Mallam Suleiman, said the body was recovered and brought home on Sunday afternoon.
Suleiman, who pointed out that Haneefa’s father, Sunusi, had gone to Umrah (Lesser Hajj) on Friday, confirmed that he was present when the incident occurred.
“They called me around 12 noon and I reported that Haneefa’s body had been recovered. So I hurried home to discover that the story was true.
“Then we organized the funeral prayer and the posterior burial of the deceased at approximately 1 PM. Remember that we had previously performed the prayer of Salatul Gaib (prayer for a corpse without discovering) after the Maghreb sentences in the Isa Cikon Kwami mosque in Magume,” he explained.
Suleiman prayed for those who helped the family during their difficult time and expressed their gratitude to all those who contributed in several ways to the recovery of their granddaughter.
