NAF airstrikes neutralize ISWAP and bandits in Borno, Kwara, Katsina and Kaduna states

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, said it has intensified its counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations across the country with a series of precision airstrikes that neutralized Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, Borno State.

It also destroyed bandit enclaves at Garin Dandi and Chigogo in Kwara State as well as Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area of ​​Katsina State.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, confirmed that the operations neutralized ISWAP terrorists in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, Borno State, and destroyed bandit enclaves in Garin Dandi and Chigogo, Kwara State, as well as Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area of ​​Katsina State.

In a statement, Air Commodore Ejodame said that the coordinated missions were executed on November 9, 2025.

According to the statement, in Borno State, NAF air interdiction missions dealt a heavy blow to ISWAP terrorists entrenched in the Northern Tumbuns. Guided by real-time Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) transmissions, the air assets carried out precision strikes southeast of Shuwaram before moving to Mallam Fatori, where ISWAP elements were observed mobilizing on motorcycles and boats along the Lake Chad basin.

The statement added that the airstrikes destroyed insurgent hideouts, logistics centers and weapons storage facilities, eliminating several terrorists and crippling their mobility capabilities.

“Post-attack assessments confirmed multiple neutralizations and significant degradation of ISWAP operational networks in the area,” he said.

“At the same time, NAF aircraft carried out precision air interdiction missions over Garin Dandi and Chigogo in Kwara State, attacking bandit camps with devastating precision based on credible intelligence.

In a related operation, Operation FANSAN YAMMA air assets attacked Zango Hill in Kankara LGA, Katsina State, the hideout of a terrorist kingpin and his fighters. Guided by actionable intelligence and ISR surveillance, multiple strike passes were executed, destroying key logistics centers and neutralizing several terrorists in one of the most decisive attacks in the region.

The air component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (Sector 1) carried out an armed reconnaissance mission along the North-West Corridor, covering key settlements in Zamfara, Kebbi and Kaduna States, including Kakihum, Dankolo, Kotonkoro and Kuyello, the statement said.

According to the statement, these locations serve as known routes and hideouts for armed groups along the Birnin Gwari-Funtua axis.
