Gunmen have abducted a pregnant woman, Mrs. Mary Jesulayomi, in Ayede community, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The abduction came just a few days after suspected gunmen kidnapped a primary school owner, Mrs Oladeinde Tomilola, and shot three others during an attack in Ilu-Abo community within the same local government area.
A resident, Pa Mse, told reporters that the attackers invaded Mrs Jesulayomi’s residence along Liberty Avenue in Ilu-Abo area around 8pm on Tuesday.
The attackers were said to have opened fire on her vehicle before taking her to an undisclosed location.
Their whereabouts remained unknown at the time of filing this report, and residents called on security agencies to intensify surveillance and urgently ensure the release of those abducted in the area.
