Another tanker carrying sixty thousand 60,000 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petroleum, fell in Oyo State.
The incident occurred at Iroko town along the Oyo/Ibadan Expressway in Ibadan on Sunday night.
It was learned that the tanker with registration number GZA55OXA diverted into a nearby ditch and spilled its contents.
However, no casualties were reported during the incident, said Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, who confirmed the accident in a statement.
He said: “The emergency was reported at exactly 5:54 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
“Upon reaching the accident site, a MACK tanker with registration number GZA55OXA of 60,000 liter capacity loaded with premium motor gasoline (PMS) diverted into a nearby ditch and its contents gushed out.
“Our officers quickly sprang into action by applying a foam chemical compound to suppress the flammability of the contents and prevent them from catching fire in the surrounding area.”
