Attempt to kidnapping Paper from the Adamawa Police

The Adamawa State Police command said that it has frustrated an attempt to kidnap and arrested a suspect in the process.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguurje, the event took place on June 7, 2025.

He said the police was informed by a resident who was receiving threats from an unknown person who was asking for a rescue of ₦ 1m.

The police quickly acted by opening an immediate operation along with the local hunters.

During a raid, one of the suspects, Manu Ahmadu, 32, was arrested in a village of Kamsu, Hong Lga, where he had gone to withdraw money he had asked, Nguurje added.

It is said that the suspect tried to disarm one of the officers while arrested.

“During the operation, a Manu Ahmadu, 32, was arrested in a certain place while trying to collect the package that demanded that he retired in a particular place located in a remote place in the Kamsu village, Hong local government area.

“In the course of arrest, the suspect tried to disarm one of the local security agents, which caused a defensive response that led to an injury that resulted in the minimum force used.”

The authorities have assured that they would present charges against the suspects when the investigation is completed

Adamawa's police commissioner, Dankombo Morris, reaffirmed the dedication of the public security command and requested continuous support and assistance of his people.
