The Edo State Police have arrested a husband and wife because they hurt their eight-year-old maid, whose name is Miss Previous.
According to the DAILY POST, the police spokesperson, SP Moses Joel Iyamu, confirmed it. He said the little girl is getting medical care, and they are looking into what happened.
This sad event took place in the Ikpoba Hill area, close to Benin City, in the Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area.
People say the couple hurt the girl, who is also their niece.
In a short video that went viral, you can hear someone asking the girl, “Who did this to you?” The girl said, “Mummy Gabriel.”
In the video, a voice said, “This is wrong. Look at her body; they cut her and then hid in a church. Bring them out. We will burn down the church. It is your duty to hand them over to the police.
“They hurt this girl and then went to hide in the church. Bring Mummy Gabriel out. We will not tell human rights, but the police will arrest you.”
Some good people reported this to the Oregbeni Police Division in Ikpoba Hill, and then the police arrested the couple, as the DAILY POST learned.
