In Jos, on Friday, an Area Court ended a 16-year-old unhappy marriage between Hussaina Abdullahi and her husband, Saidu Ali.
The judge, Lawal Suleiman, agreed with Abdullahi’s request for a divorce.
The judge decided that Abdullahi would take care of the children, and Ali should send N30,000 each month through the court for the children’s needs.
The judge also said that Ali must pay for the children’s school fees.
Before the divorce, Abdullahi told the court that she married Saidu in 2008.
She said, “Our marriage has no peace or love. I do not love Saidu anymore and cannot live with him as his wife.
“I am willing to return the N40,000 dowry he gave for our marriage,” she said.
She also asked for custody of the two children. NAN
