The State Police Command has arrested a driver to a special advisor from the Governor of the State of Edo, on Monday Okpebholo, for the alleged sexual assault of the 15 -year -old daughter of the governor's assistant.
Daily Post reports that the public relations officer of the command, Moses Yamu, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, identified as Mohammed Ihuenuma, 50, to journalists on Thursday in Benin City.
Yamu said the investigation is ongoing and that the suspect would be accused of courts after the investigation.
He advised the members of the public to always report cases of rape, indecent assault and pollution to the police for immediate shares.
He added that the state police commissioner, on Monday, Agbonika, has zero tolerance for cases associated with gender violence, GBV.
Daily Post gathered that the suspect was arrested after a warning of the victim's father.
It was alleged that the suspect often looked for an opportunity to play with the teenager, who lives with his parents, every time he came home in a message.
A source claimed that the driver has touched the girl at different times in an indecent way, trying to attract her.
It was also learned that after several incidents, the girl informed her mother, who finally informed her father.
Later, the father informed the matter to the police, which led to the arrest of the suspect.
