EFCC Apprehends 44 Alleged Fraudsters in Anambra and Enugu

Must Read

Police officers in Enugu and Anambra States have caught 44 people who they think are doing bad things on the internet.

The officers who made the arrest work for a group called the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC for short.

This happened very early in the morning on a weekend, specifically on Saturday and Sunday, which were September 28 and 29 in the year 2024.

The officers got information that suggested these people were doing bad things online, so they decided to check it out.

When they were arrested, the officers found that some of these people used websites like Instagram and Facebook to play tricks on people.

For example, some of these people pretended to be someone they’re not, tricking people from other countries into thinking they were romantically involved, just to steal from them. Others were caught with papers that weren’t real on their computers and phones.

The officers took away their laptops and many kinds of fancy phones.

The EFCC said these people will go to court to see if they did something wrong after the officers finish finding out more.
