Fame is an Intense Addiction – Reminisce

Must Read

Nigerian rapper Remilekun Abdulkhalid Safaru, also known as Reminisce, thinks being famous is like a strong drug.

Reminisce, who sings the hit song ‘Alaga Ibile’, says that fame can make you feel dizzy and confused.

He talked about this when he was on Naija FM in Lagos for an interview.

Reminisce explained, “Fame is like a hard drug. It makes you feel so high and different.”

When asked how he deals with being famous, the rapper said he pretends that nobody is his close friend.

He thinks of people as work buddies, not personal friends.

Reminisce believes that if you see people as just your work buddies, you don’t expect too much from them.

Let’s imagine this: If you have a big, yummy cake, and everyone wants a piece, it may be hard to know who really likes you for you or just for the cake. Fame is like the cake, sweet but tricky. So, Reminisce keeps his feelings in check by treating everyone like schoolmates playing a game together, not like best friends you sit with at lunch.
