Officers of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested a man for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his 15-year-old biological daughter.
The suspect, Oyewole Adamolekun, who had been having illegal sexual relations with his daughter since she was three years old, was also accused of impregnating her.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, the suspect who committed the crime at Taye Village, Lafa 2, Ajue axis of Odigbo Local Council Area of Ondo State, was reported by a resident of the community, Julius Olusola.
“Acting quickly on the report, Division agents arrested the suspect, while the victim was immediately taken to a medical center where an ultrasound examination confirmed that she was nineteen (19) weeks and two (2) days pregnant.
“During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime. He is currently in police custody and the case has been transferred to the Command’s Gender Office for diligent investigation and expedited processing.
“Reacting to the shocking development, the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, strongly condemned the act, describing it as not only criminal but also morally reprehensible,” Ayanlade said.
