A deadly accident and escape accident in the early hours of Monday killed four people along the Oke Iganmu axis of Ogun, Ogun state.
The federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, confirmed the incident, which occurred at approximately 3:50 am, the accident involved a yellow tricycle with the Registration number of425WB and an unidentified vehicle that fled the scene immediately after the collision.
In a statement issued by the FRSC Public Education Officer, Mrs. Florence Okpe, on behalf of the commander of the Ogun state sector, Mr. Akinwumi Fasakin, it was revealed that the Oilo Unit Command officers quickly responded to a call of anguish. Upon arrival, they discovered that two men and two women had died on the scene.
The remains of the victims have been deposited in the morgue of the State Hospital in Oilaro.
Preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed and reckless driving were factors contributed to the accident.
While expressing more condolences to the deceased's families, the commander of the sector urged motorists to prioritize road safety, warning that irresponsible driving continues to cost innocent lives.
