An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) has reportedly detonated beneath a military vehicle during a routine patrol along the Ihite Ukwa-Health Center axis in Orsu Local Government Area of ​​Imo State.
Security sources revealed this to security expert Zagazola Makama on Saturday.
Sources said the incident occurred around 6:50 am on September 4, 2026, when troops from the 34 Artillery Brigade stepped on the device while on patrol.
Sources said the blast damaged the right front fender of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle.

However, it was learned that no casualties were reported in the incident.
According to Makama, troops have continued to maintain security operations in the area, while efforts are being made to prevent further attacks along the route.
