Must Read

The Kwara State Police Command has debunked reports that a female police officer in the state was kidnapped and murdered.

A statement on Saturday by command spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi in Ilorin described the claims as “completely false and deeply worrying to the public.”

‎The police command clearly stated that the report is not only false but also misleading, intended to cause panic in the state.

He advised the public to ignore false/misleading information as there are no reports of any policewoman missing or kidnapped in any division of the state.

“There is no Ogidi Police Division in Kwara State. The spread of this kind of misinformation is not only reputational but also distressing to the people and people of Kwara State.

“The command is fully cooperating with other state security agencies to ensure that we continue to protect lives and property, prevent crimes and maintain peace,” he added.

The command urged the public and the media to refrain from sharing unverified or sensational information that may cause unnecessary panic or damage the reputation of the State.

The statement assured that the command under the leadership of CP Adekimi Ojo remains committed to transparency and will provide further updates as necessary.
