A superior court of the state of Ekiti sitting in Ado Ekiti has sent a Jewole Olamilekan to the lifeguard jail, while Omoyajowo Ayo was discharged and acquitted of conspiracy and rape.
Ajewole Olamilekan (33) and Omoyajowo Ayo (25) were prosecuted before Judge Adekunle Adelev for a position of two positions that border the rape.
The position says that the defendants on June 29, 2024 in Ayetoro Ekiti within the court of the Court “conspired to violate a 10 -year -old girl, unlike section 31 (2) of the Law of the Rights of the Child, Cap.C7, Laws of Ekiti State 2012”. “
To prove his case, the prosecutor, Obeels, called five witnesses and presented the statements of the accused, CD Rom, DRAMP, medical report and medical documents as exhibitions.
Ajewole Olamilekan spoke through his lawyer in his own defense.
He exonerated the second defendant (Omoyajowo Ayo), that she knew nothing about the incident.
In his trial, Judge Adekunle Adeleye said: “I do not find an inflectable circumstance that links the second defendant (Omoyajowo Ayo) to commit a violation with the first accused; for the present, she is acquitted and discharged.
“In general, the Prosecutor's Office has established the essential ingredients of the crime of violation against the first accused beyond reasonable doubt, he is convicted as accused.
“Consequently, the first defendant (Ajewole Olamilekan) is sentenced to life imprisonment as provided by section 31 (2) of the Child's Rights Law, Cap.C7, Laws of the State of Ekiti, 2012.”
