The Kano State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested two suspects for alleged crimes in Kumbotso Local Government Area.
Command spokesperson Ibrahim Abdullahi said one of the suspects, Usman Abdulhamid, 19, of Yankanko, Panshekara, was arrested for stealing a motorcycle in the Sabuwar Jiddah area.
“The second suspect, Salisu Abdullahi, 28, of Samegu, was arrested in Sabon Titin Dorayi with several cartons of hard drugs including Paxol, Pregabalin, Diazepam and other stimulants.” Abdullahi added.
Abdulhamid allegedly admitted belonging to a gang specializing in motorcycle theft in Kano.
Four stolen motorcycles from Abdulhamid (three Jincheng and one Lifan) were recovered, while two other suspects are at large.
NSCDC confirmed that the arrests are part of efforts to reduce crime and protect the public from threats to public safety.
The two suspects are still in custody as the investigation continues. They will be charged before the court once completed.
