The chapter of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Kaduna state has praised the state government's decision to relax the 24-hour curfew to allow residents to buy more food while still at home.
A statement signed by the State PDP Secretary of Publicity, Abraham Alberah Catoh, advised the state government to open more distribution centers for palliative initiatives in an attempt to cushion the effect of the blockade.
The party noted: "In order to ensure that relief materials are well distributed to reach those for whom they are intended, we recommend that the Government use them every Tuesday and Wednesday for this exercise."
The party explained that to avoid gathering many people at a particular center, many centers must identify themselves and make themselves known to the public. “This will guarantee transparency in the distribution exercise. The public must also support the government by being orderly in its behavior, "the statement added.
The party called on Nigerians not to "take advantage" of the current global calamity for personal gain, and emphasized that public protest at the rising cost of essential materials, especially food, was becoming very unbearable.
He said this time "it is time for people to be their brother's keepers," saying the government must be supported by all patriotic citizens to control the unreasonable and unrealistic rise in prices of these products by merchants. selfish.
PDP, therefore, asked members of the public to continue to respect government directives and obey medical advice issued periodically by the state committee COVID-19.
