Police arrest four alleged armed thieves, recover weapons in Kwara

Four suspicious have been arrested in relation to an incident of theft in the Tanke area of ​​Ilorin, Kwara state.

According to the reports, the armed suspects invaded the residence of an Abdulrazak Dotunji in Oke Odo, Tanke.

Local residents quickly warned of the nearby police division, which caused a rapid response from law agents.

According to the account of eyewitnesses, three of the suspects were arrested at the scene, while others managed to escape during the police intervention.

“Shortly after, another suspect was arrested during a stop and search operation around Sanrab Junction, near the axis of the University of Ilorin. It is said that a person more escaped from an arrest,” said a source.

The articles recovered from the suspects included a lowly lowly used motorcycle in the operation, a knife and two industrial oxygen cylinders, among other materials.

The arrested suspects are currently in the Kwara State Police command.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, the public relations officer of the command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Edeymi, said that four suspects; Danjuma Abubakar, Alkassim Abubakar, Mohammed Ibrahim and Mohammed Awal, were in custody.

“Yes, it is true and the investigations are ongoing to detain the complicit that flee,” he said.
