The State Police Command of Benue has announced the arrest of three alleged armed thieves found with dozens of stolen electronic devices.
In a statement issued on Friday, September 12, 2025, the Public Relations Officer DSP Udeme Edet said the suspects were intercepted on August 31, 2025 at 5:05 pm by the agents of the Orokam division during a detention and search operation in Orokam Junction along the Aphor Road.
The suspects identified as Mujahid Mohammed, 21, Yahaya Abdullahi, and Kalipha Mohammad, 28, all residents of Mararaba, Nyanya, Abuja were supposedly trapped with a bag containing 34 mobile phones, three HP laptops and two MP3 players.
According to the police, the men confessed to being members of a robbery gang that has terrified Orokam and parts of the neighboring state of Enugu.
According to the reports, they admitted to having assaulted six floors in the Umukasi area and ten floors in the St. Theresa de Nsukka area, enugu state.
The statement added that the gang leader, identified as Abba Mohammed, 27, escaped with his weapons during the arrest and remains in general.
Police said the efforts are in progress in collaboration with the commands of the State of ENUGU and GOMBE to track and identify the legitimate owners of the recovered articles.
Police Commissioner Eminari IFEANYI praised the rapid action of the patrol team and reiterated the resolution of the undone command of the criminal elements.
He urged residents to continue providing timely information to help maintain public safety.
