The Niger State Police Command has arrested two acquaintances who had wreaked havoc in the communities of the local government of Bosso for the guilty homicide, along with an armed thief in the state.
They include Sani Mohammed, also known as Shawo, 22; Abubakar Dahiru, also known as Sirin-Baye, 20, of Gidan-Mangoro, Minna; and Idris Mohammed, also known as YB, 30, of the opposite Kure market area, Minna. They were arrested on June 16, 2025 by agents of the crack squad and STS.
The State Police, through the Public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement said that Sani and Abubakar were linked to several high -profile kidnappings, including the kidnapping of a widow in Maikunkele, so they demanded and received a rescue of N8 million.
He also revealed that the same gang was involved in the kidnapping of two brothers in Beji, so they demanded a rescue of N5 million.
Abiodun declared that after receiving the sum of N2.2 million, they released one before killing the other brother.
“The two suspects later fled to the states of Kaba, Kogi and Zamfara, until recently they planned to regroup, with the intention of inviting Yeli de Zamfara and Smally of the state of Kogi.”
“The suspects were identified by another victim who paid a rescue of one million Naira for his release,” Abiodun revealed.
Both are still under investigation, in order to arrest other gang members.
The professional also revealed that Idris Mohammed was also involved in a gang that attacked and stole the victims in a mosque during the morning prayers in Darulalam, in front of the Kure market area, Minna.
“He (Idris) confessed the crime, revealing that he and other gang members, including Yusuf, Usama, Hamza, Captain, Xsquad and another, were responsible for the act, while Xsquad was arrested and processed,” he said.
