A 45 -year -old businessman has been ordered, Abubarkar Mohammed Dandatijo, to be reminded in the Kirikiri Correctional Center.
The order followed its reading of charges before the Court of Igbosere magistrates, sitting in Tinubu, Lagos Island, for allegedly polluting an eight -year -old girl.
According to the reports, the alleged crime occurred in 54 Baale Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, attracting strong reactions of members of the local community.
According to police findings, Dandatijo was accused of attracting the child to his residence, where he supposedly had illegal sex with her.
After the incident, it was said that he had given the child N50 and warned him not to reveal what had happened.
The matter came to light when the girl's mother observed behavioral changes in her daughter.
After additional investigation, according to reports, he found physical evidence of abuse, including traces of blood and semen.
Later, the child identified the suspect, known locally as “Alhaji”, as the responsible person.
The revelation led the neighbors to face Dandatijo, during which he allegedly admitted the crime and sought forgiveness.
Concerned about the possibility that the case is deleted, residents informed the matter to the inspector General Police Assistant for Zone 2 Command, Aig Integoke Fayoade.
The AIG directed a detailed investigation, which led to the arrest of Dandatijo by a team led by Asp Jeremiah Kamto.
Subsequently, the suspect was accused of contamination and participate in a conduct that probably causes a violation of peace, crimes contrary to sections 137 and 168 (1) (d) of the criminal law of the state of Lagos, 2015.
The fiscal officer, Asp Ibrahim Haruna, declared that the alleged law was committed without the victim's consent and that the suspect tried to suppress the dissemination through a monetary incentive.
Judge Nas Wahab postponed the case as of July 25, 2025, for mention, waiting for legal advice from the director of public prosecutions of the state of Lagos.
