The armed bandits have attacked two villages in the area of the local government of Bungudu of the State of Zamfara, killing a blacksmith and kidnapping 25 people, including women and children.
According to a Zagazola Makama security analyst on Sunday in its official mango, the incident occurred around 10:30 pm Friday night when the attackers attacked the Dogon Daji village in the Nahuche district.
“The gunmen, who were armed with AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons, kidnapped 25 residents and whispered several cattle during the attack.
“Among those killed were Muhammadu Kasu, a local blacksmith known in the community for repairing hunting rifles. The bandits also left with a motorcycle.
“After leaving Dogon Daji, the armed men moved to the Danguro village within the local government itself. There they killed another resident, Aminu Abubakar, and stole five motorcycles before escaping to an unknown place,” Makama wrote.
The security forces, including the troops of the Fansan Yanma operation, then arrived at the scene and confirmed the incident.
The efforts to rescue the kidnapped victims and recover stolen cattle are ongoing.
