5 ways to identify a fake human hair wig: When you buy hair through an online retailer, how can you tell if the hair you receive is real or fake? This is a situation that the vast majority of women find themselves in. An Instagram vendor publishes a picture to their account showing a beautiful woman twirling what appears to be a luscious wig. She quickly sends a direct message to the vendor in order to inquire about the cost, and she is informed that it is more than N100,000. She communicates her preferences to the retailer regarding the specific hair she desires, and then she either transfers the money she has saved up or she borrows money in order to pay for the wig.

When the wig finally arrives, something doesn’t quite sit right. It is not as described on the website. So how exactly do you determine whether or not it is a fake wig?

Experiment with the following:

1. Tangling

This is the simplest method for determining whether the hair you have purchased is real or fake. Unnecessarily and excessively, artificial hair tends to tangle. Even though real hair gets tangled, it does so much less frequently than synthetic hair would.

2. You could try setting fire to a few strands

False hair will melt, but real human hair will catch fire. When human hair is exposed to flame, it will immediately roll up into a ball, start a fire, and smell like hair in the process of burning. When exposed to flame, fake hair will melt and emit a smell similar to that of rubber.

3. Apply some water, and watch what happens

When wet, human hair wigs take on a wavy and curly appearance; try spritzing it with some water to see if it curls. If it can be curled, then it is real human hair; if it cannot be curled, then it is artificial.

4. Test a few strands of your hair with bleach

If you really want to know whether the hair you bought was fake or real, you might have to go to some extreme lengths, but this is the only way to tell for sure. After that, snip off a few strands from it, and bleach those strands. When bleach is applied, real hair will become more compact, whereas synthetic hair will catch fire.

5. Shedding

It is normal for hair to shed, but if there is a significant amount of shedding, you can be certain that the hair is not real.

Finally, if you want to avoid being taken advantage of when you buy hair online, you should read reviews first.
