A strong downpour in the morning in the ancient city of Potiskum, the state of Yobe, has submerged eleven areas, dismissing residents.
Preliminary report and spatial analysis carried out by the State Emergency Management Agency, Sema, indicated that the affected areas include: Antigua prison, Filin Mashe, Uguwar Makafi, Uguwar Jaje Bakin Kwari, Afghanistan and Tsangaya.
Other areas are Karofi, Bayan Garejin Dan Juma, Jigawa Bayan, Makarahuta and Tandari.
Although no loss of lives has been recorded at the time of presentation in this report, the detailed Sema evaluation is still ongoing.
According to the agency, the state government will ensure that the support and protection of salvation of life are provided to the victims.
