FRSC confirms one death in the only accident in Osun

The Osun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of one person following a solo fatal road accident along the Ilesa-Ipetu road in Osun State on Friday.

The incident, according to a statement by the Sector Commander, Leye Adegboyega and issued by the Sector Public Education Officer, Agnes Ogungbemi, “occurred at around 2:05 pm, approximately five kilometers from the FRSC base after Iwaraja Junction, near Cele Church, according to a First Official Report.”

The statement details that, “the accident involved a single vehicle, a black Nissan Murano jeep with license plate AAA413KJ, classified as a private vehicle, the report states.”

“The accident was fatal in nature, with possible causes identified as speed violation, loss of control and tire explosion.

“A total of four adult men were involved in the incident, three of them were injured, while one adult man was confirmed dead at the scene.

“No uninjured persons were recorded and no objects were recovered from the accident scene,” the report added.

“The injured victims were assisted by a good Samaritan, who transported them from the scene of the accident to a hospital in the city of Ilesa to receive medical attention.

“The body of the deceased was deposited in the morgue of the University Hospital of the University of Ilesa for its conservation and subsequent procedures.

“The accident vehicle was subsequently towed away from the scene by officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Ijebu-Jesa Division, to ensure the free flow of traffic,” the statement said.
