The newly elected executives of the Association of Producers and Suppliers of Organic Fertilizers of Nigeria (OFPSAN) have promised to establish a committee within the association to eliminate adulterated organic fertilizers of the market.
The newly elected president of Ofpsan, Alhaji Adams Musa, who declared this in his acceptance speech, requested collaboration within the association to continue delivering quality organic fertilizers to the Nigerians.
“We will form a technical committee from the members. We will definitely see the best way to eliminate all adulterated products in Ofpsan to help ensure that we have quality products to supply in many programs that the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and other partners invite us to attend.”
“I stand before you today humiliated and honored to have been chosen as president of our great association, the Association of Producers and Suppliers of Organic Fertilizers of Nigeria (OFPSAN). This renewed mandate is not just a vote of confidence; it is a call to a deeper service, a stronger leadership and an even greater commitment.
“When I was preparing to deliver as president, Interine Management Committee (BMI), it was with the conviction that I had done my best in time and the media available. But his confidence has brought me a complete circle, returning to not start, but to build more.
“We have sat a solid base in the last mandate, unite our members, restore our operational force, initiate digital transformation, reach other partners within the same sector and efforts, and ensure that our presence sits on all policy and industry platforms. However, we all know that real work is beginning,” he said in his acceptance speech.
While implementing other plans for the association, Musa said there would be structural and organizational reforms within Ofpsan to guarantee professionalism, transparency and sustainable growth:
“Ensure ingenious funds and associations to promote our programs beyond survival and limitations on a large -scale impact, deepening our commitment to the government and international partners to raise organic agriculture to a key driver of food security in Nigeria and, most importantly, ensuring that each member has a voice and participation in the success of this association,” he said.
When asking for the support of the members, the president of Ofpsan said: “This is not a single -man trip. I invite each of you (interested parties, producers, suppliers, partners, to join with a renewed passion. We challenge the status quo, let ourselves innovate and let ourselves grow. Together, we can and we will do organic practices not only a dream, but a national standard.”
In their separate speeches, the members of the Association renewed the calls to farmers to adopt organic fertilizers on their farms, citing some health risks associated with the use of chemicals.
Other chosen members of the Executive include Mr. Idris Muazu as vice president of Dr. Enemy Shaibu Isaac as Secretary, Emeka Ajoiyi as an assistant secretary, Chukwumezie Maluze as Pro, and Alhaji Bashir Lawal Muhammad as treasurer.
